How Trust Africa Escrow works

You pay into escrow
When you buy, book, or rent, your payment goes to TrustAfrica Escrow — not directly to the seller. Payments are processed securely through Paystack.

The seller is notified to deliver
The seller can see the payment is secured and fulfils the order — ships the product, performs the service, or prepares the property. They are not paid yet.

You confirm delivery
Once you receive what you paid for and it matches the listing, you confirm delivery. Only then are the funds released to the seller.

Funds are released — or disputed
On confirmation, the seller is paid out to their bank. If something is wrong, you open a dispute instead of confirming, and our team steps in.

How does Trust Africa Escrow work?
Your payment is held securely in escrow when you buy. The seller only receives the money after you confirm you received your order as described. This protects both sides of every transaction.
How is my payment protected?
Funds are held in escrow and never released to the seller until you confirm delivery. If you never confirm and the order is not delivered, the payment is not released to the seller.
How do I confirm delivery?
From your Transactions, you confirm once the product arrives, the service is completed, or the property is handed over as agreed. Confirmation is what releases payment.
What is the refund process?
If an order is not delivered or does not match the listing, do not confirm delivery — open a dispute. Eligible transactions are refunded through the original payment method once the dispute is resolved in your favour.
How are disputes resolved?
If you and the seller disagree, our resolution team reviews the evidence from both sides and decides whether funds are released to the seller or refunded to you.
How are sellers verified?
Sellers verify email and phone, and can complete identity, face, and address verification. Sellers who complete full verification earn the Trusted Seller badge. Identity verification is required before a seller can receive any escrow payout.
